Then join us on Sunday March 10th, 2019 for a dynamic, highly participatory and enlightened career fair of the future, designed specifically for college + high school students.
Converging with the talent in town for SXSW, tech experts, futurists, industry leaders, designers and students will dive into a series of discussions on how life in a city will change, how entertainment, shopping and business will shift, how we’ll build things in whole new ways … and a lot more. And we’ll explore what this means for the jobs and talents needed (and likely not) in the future.
This is a unique taste of the future designed for busy students like you:
There will be four distinct 90min sessions and you can register for as many or as few as you like:
9-10:30 The Future of Smart City Living
As urban populations continue to grow, can you imagine a city with autonomous transportation, vertical food farms, radically affordable 3D printed homes? How could that change where we live and how? What jobs are needed (or shifted) in a world that looks like this?
11-12:30pm The Future of Making + Building
From the way your dentist makes a new tooth to the augmented reality and robot enhanced manufacturing plants, to using recycled materials to 3D print whole new solutions, to the the way we make and build things will continue to be transformed. What are the skills needed in this
1:30-3:00pm The Future of Play + Pay
What will Retail be transformed as the lines between in-store and online continue to blur, locations become cashierless, and our expectations for extra personal products and services continue to escalate? The same with entertainment, as we are invited to change the story or watch in completely new formats. And how could the way we pay — and are rewarded — for everything also radically shift? How does this change current roles and what new ones might be created?
3:30-5pm The Future of Medicine, Well-being and Self
Personalised genomic medicines? AI augmented diagnosis? Cannabis in my coke? Prescribed meditation and time in the park? Senors in my toilet? In-home care robots or digital psychologist bots? What does the frontier of well-being, diagnosis and healing look like? What industries are becoming more important as we increasingly take more charge of our own health and well-being? What does it mean to be a doctor or dentist in the future? Which healthcare threats could grow and who/what will we turn to for support and answers?
Registration:
The event is free for College and High School Students. Adults will be admitted as space is available prior to each session. We only have room for 200 students for each session, so registration hereensures you have a seat!
Adults: We have a limited space for adult mentors; if you’d like to work directly to guide/coach students during a portion of each session, please register here.
